Named 'Kurunba' (Spirit of the Land)' to reflect the uniqueness of Olio Bello's breathtaking location, richness of earth and passion of purpose - Kurunba is a medium to fruity style oil and a great all-rounder.

Kurunba is one of Olio Bello's first and most popular and awarded olive oils.

In 2019, ‘Kurunba’ again received a Gold Medal at the premium West Australian awards for its excellence and refreshing fruity green banana and guava aroma. A combination of our Corregiolo and Boutellian (with a hint of Marioli), the oil received a 2020 Silver Medal at the WA Olive Awards. In 2021, Kurunba (Bouteillan), was awarded a Silver Medal at the WA for an oil sourced from a single grove.

2021 - Oil Maker's Notes

In 2021, we think that all our organic, varietal oils are outstanding, but of particular note, is the Kurunba (featuring our French olive cultivar Bouteillan).

Benefitting from the cooler climate, it’s fresh, herbaceous and fruit driven, not overly pungent or overpowering - and has the advantages of a slower fruit ripening, without it being dominated by too much pepper, or excess pungency.

Fresh grass and apple aromas on the nose

TASTE
A fresh, medium bodied herbaceoius oil with grassy flavours and a peppery finish.

FOOD MATCHING
Shell fish, leafy green salads and dressings, grilled aubergine and roast tomato. Celebrate its success with fresh crusty bread, Olio Bello organic olives, dukkah and a glass of local, Margaret River wine.

Olio Bello lives up to its name

And I thought the Leccino was really good.....Kurunba is right up there. Beautiful almost creamy like texture and delicious subtle flavour that enhances food beautifully.
